GES to open portal to address teacher upgrade, promotion issues

The Minister for Education, Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum has hinted the Ghana Education Service (GES) in due course will launch a portal to address issues of teacher upgrade and promotion.

Speaking in an interview monitored by EducationWeb.com.gh, Dr Yaw Adutwum said the Education Service has assured him of the early release of the upgrade letters and promotion of teachers this year.

“The Management of the Ghana Education Service (GES) has promised me they will this year release the promotion and upgrade letters to qualified teachers soon,” the Education Minister stated.

The teaching Minister added that a portal will also be launched for teachers who are due for promotion but have not been promoted to submit their name and other details for the necessary action to be taken.

“So for past and present teacher upgrade and promotion, the Ghana Education Service (GES), this year is working tirelessly on it to ensure teachers due for promotion and upgrade are satisfied,” the Bosomtwe MP noted.

He commended teachers in the country for their enormous work in classrooms adding that the Ministry of Education (MoE) will do whatever it takes to support the teachers.

  1. Teacher who have the upgraded letters processed from 2018 up to date but has not reflected on payslips what is G.E.S doing about it for the government to pay the money.
