“The third batch of the Ghana Education Service (GES) posting for the 2020 leftover batch has been released. Colleges of Education (CoE) teachers are to check their dashboards,” the source told EducationWeb.com.gh in an email.

The release of the third batch leftover postings of the year 2020 comes after the Minister for Education, Hon Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum assured his outfit in due course will get financial clearance to post unposted trained teachers.

Honourable Osei Yaw Adutwum in a meeting with the leadership of various Students Unions indicated a special request has been submitted to the Ministry of Finance (MoF) for financial clearance to facilitate the backlog postings.

The Education Minister stated that only newly trained teachers who have sat and passed the Ghana teacher licensure examination and completed the one-year mandatory National Service will be considered for the forthcoming postings.

Asked when graduate teachers will be recruited into service by the Ghana Education Service (GES), Mr Yaw Adutwum said a financial clearance at the appropriate time will be given his outfit for the recruitment of more graduate teachers.

In an interview monitored by EducationWeb, the Bosomtwe Member of Parliament said qualified trained teachers from public Colleges of Education will first be recruited by GES before the teachers from various Education universities.

“The last 4 years we have hired 93,000 teachers and the majority of them were graduate teachers for Free SHS but what we are doing now is focusing on basic schools so we are hoping to get clearance to recruit graduates,” Osei Yaw said.

The Minister in charge of Education explained that since the graduate teachers were not trained by the various government Colleges of Education (CoE) their recruitment for this school academic year will take some time.

A staff of the Ministry of Education in line with Dr Adutwum’s assurance Saturday entreated unposted College teachers are to get their required documents and qualifications ready to be eligible for the posting by the end of the month.
