Born in 1987, Edwin Luna embarked on his professional journey at the tender age of 8, taking the stage under his father’s guidance. However, as a young man, he initially rebelled against music, feeling coerced to sing at gatherings. During his high school years, he pursued accounting, but it was evident that his father’s influence ultimately steered him back towards music.

At 15, he collaborated with notable figures such as Don Arsenio Jimenez de Cadereyta, Banda Sinaloa, Virgilio Canales y Liberacion, and the Piricuaco Band. Edwin Luna is not only the founder but also the leader and lead singer of Banda la Trakalosa de Monterrey. He is the fourth child of the late Don Miguel Luna, known as “El Gorrion,” from the legendary duo El Palomo y El Gorrion.

In 2010, Edwin Luna formed the initial version of the group, Banda la Escandalosa, following an invitation from former members of La Real Banda Chilera. By October, he had signed a contract with Remex Music. In March of the following year, half of his team members departed to form another group. Resolutely, he recruited musicians from Sonora, Oaxaca, Jalisco, Guanajuato, and Monterrey, renaming the ensemble Banda la Trakalosa de Monterrey.

Later that year, the band released an anthology of the same name, encompassing all their singles, a fresh track titled “Concha del Alma,” and several fan favorites.
