How to Complete Homework on MathsWatch

Laptops, tablets and even mobile phones are fine.

You also need paper and a pen, as you will be taking notes and working things  out on paper. Only your final answers are entered into MathsWatch.

First go to the MathsWatch VLE homepage: https://vle.mathswatch.co.uk/vle/

2) Enter your MathsWatch Username and Password.

Usernames are generally Firstname.Lastname@orchard

Passwords are identical to usernames.

Check carefully whether your username has capital letters.

3) Once you have logged in, your homework can be found on the ‘My Work’ tab. This will show you what homework has been set for you and when it needs to  be completed by.

You may still be able to complete homework if you have missed the due date. Click on the title of the homework task that you wish to complete.

4) Your first job on Mathswatch is always to watch the video. Generally this will be the full video (“View Video”) but if you are revisiting the  topic for revision you may choose to watch the shorter version. (“View One  Minute Maths Video”)

While watching the video you may wish to pause it to write down key  information or copy examples.

You will also need to pause the video while you answer practice questions. Remember that you can rewind the video at any time.

5) Once you have watched the video, taken notes and completed the practice  questions, you can begin answering the homework questions.

You can answer the questions in any order.

If you are typing an answer and need a mathematical symbol or need to type a  fraction, power or root the “+” button in the answer box lets you do this.

Once you have pressed ‘Submit Answer’ you answer is saved. If you log-out you  can pick up where you left off later. Your work will not be lost.

Once you submit your answer MathsWatch will tell you whether or not your  answer was correct. If your answer was incorrect you can attempt the question  again as many times as you like. If you are really stuck try watching the video  again.

When you have answered all of the questions click ‘Return to Assigned Work’. You can see that your work has been saved and what your score is.

6) You can also use MathsWatch to complete independent study or revision. Click on the “Video” tab. Choose “KS3” or “GCSE” in the Qualification menu. You can then search for the topic you wish to study.

You can watch a video, complete interactive questions or print off a worksheet.

If you can’t find the topic that you are looking for speak to your teacher who  will be able to tell you the correct clip number.
