According to news reports, the Memphis Police Department has fired five officers in connection with Tyre Nichols’ death. Tyre Nichols, 29, died on January 10 after being stopped by Memphis police. Around 8:30 p.m., police pulled Nichols over for careless driving. Tyre Nichols’ official cause of death has yet to be revealed.
Currently, five Memphis ex-police officers are charged with murder and jailed in connection with Tyre Nichols’ death. Their names are Tadarrius Bean, Demetrius Haley, Emmitt Martin III, bottom row from left, Desmond Mills, Jr. and Justin Smith

Tyre Nichols, the man who died after a traffic stop with Memphis Police Department officers, will be laid to rest on Feb. 1 at Mississippi Boulevard Christian Church, with a eulogy delivered by civil rights activist Rev. Al Sharpton. A candlelight vigil and memorial will also be held in California on Jan. 30 at 6:30 p.m. and Feb. 4 at 4 p.m.
