The ‘Rastafarian’ comment comes after the Authorities of his dream school on Friday, March 19, 2021, base on the Ghana Education Service code of conduct refused him and another dreadlocked student admission.

Iras Marhguy in an interview with the Accra-based Citi TV monitored by Educationweb.com.gh said Motown was among one of the many Senior High Schools (SHSs) he have always wanted to attend after BECE.

“So I was expecting that they will accept me but then bringing in the hair problem really shocked and surprised,” the first-year student told Citi TV.

According to Tyrone Iras, the Achimota school should have at least consider his Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) grade and not the dread.

He furthered that if the Achimota Management will not revise their decision of not giving him admission then he may consider enrollment at St.John’s Grammar SHS where they accept BECE graduates with dreadlocks.
