Teachers shouldn’t pay higher tax rate in a country – Joe Biden

President of the United States of America, Mr Joseph Robinette Biden Jr. also known as Joe Biden following teachers enormous contribution to education in the world has called for them to be exempted from paying higher taxes.


The 46th US President who made the comment in a post sighted by EducationWeb.com.gh said “A teacher shouldn’t pay a higher tax rate than a profitable company. It’s time we reward work in this country—not just wealth.”

Meanwhile, the Minister in charge of Education in the country, Hon Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum has said the Republic of Ghana is among the countries in the World with the best trained and dedicated prospective teachers.

Dr Adutwum disclosed this on Wednesday, October 19, 2021, after a delegation led by the Registrar of the National Teaching Council (NTC), Dr Christian Addai Poku paid a courtesy call on him at his office at the Education Ministry.

The visit was aimed at introducing 43-year old Senior High School Teacher, Mr Evans Odei, who has been shortlisted for the top 10 Global Teachers Awards slated to take place in November this year to the Education Minister.

Addressing the delegation, the Member of Parliament (MP) for the Bosomtwe Constituency said Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo led government is committed to improving the welfare of teachers in the country.

He also told Global Teachers Awards candidate, Mr Evans Odei from Achimota Senior High School (SHS) the government will support him as he goes into the final bit of the Teachers Prize contest slated for November 10, 2021.
