The Executive Director of Africa Education Watch, Mr Kofi Asare has encouraged all the newly posted teachers who this year will this year serve the Republic of Ghana at various schools to do their best at the post.
The Executive Director giving an account of his past as a newly posted teacher said he spent the first eight years in Rural Ghana where there was no electricity; water, internet, telephone and transport.
“Some of us only started using mobile phones in 2004, not because we couldn’t afford one, but we simply had no use for them”, he added.
Mr Kofi Asare on social media advised recruited staff asking for motivation that “there is no greater motivation than being lucky to have been a part of 6,500 teachers selected out of over 100,000 applicants to work for Ghana”.
“You cannot learn this in any classroom or book; hit the rural. We were there to serve; you have to be there too”, he told all newly posted teachers.
His words of encouragement come after the Ghana Education Service (GES) January 7, 2021, release the postings of over 6,000 university graduates.
