The opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has petitioned His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to consider a second-time school closure as he addresses the country on measures to slow covid-19.
A leading member of the opposition party, Dzifa Gunu who made the appeal in a social media post sighted by Educationweb.com.gh said the coronavirus situation is currently out of control, hence the need for school closure.
“At least I expect Akufo-Addo to close the schools again…The situation is out of control, he slept on the job”, the NDC activist stated.
President Akufo-Addo Sunday, January 31, 2021, is expected to address the nation on the government measures put in place to slow and curb the spread of the locally transmitted coronavirus that has claimed 405 lives.
The good people of Ghana following the unforeseen increase in the novel coronavirus cases have similarly urged the central government to close down schools to slow and protect the lives of the school children.
