GNACOPS comment comes after some Teacher Unions proposed for the government to close down schools for the second time amid an increase in the cases of the locally transmitted virus and inadequate PPEs in schools.

The Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT), in a purported statement sighted by Educationweb.com.gh, said the lack of Personal Protective Equipment in various schools demands the closure of schools.

But, the Council of Private Schools contrary to GNAT’s request and suggestion has said private schools in the country are ready and have the expertise to deal with the current and developing situation.

According to GNACOPS, the member of the teacher union, the Ghana National Association of Teachers can only advise the Government of Ghana to shut down public or government schools but not that of private schools.
