President Akufo-Addo last year following the excellent WASSCE results of the first batch of the Free SHS beneficiaries who sat for the 2020 WASSCE praised for proving critics and naysayers who opposed the policy wrong.
Akufo-Addo made the commendation Monday, November 23, 2020, when he visited the Aburi Girls Senior High School (ABUGISS) who according to candidates results performed outstandingly in the national examination
“I am reliably informed that the excellent WASSCE results of Aburi Girls, and, indeed, of all 2020 SHS graduates, were notably impressive,” he stated.
His Excellency in a short speech continued that “those who claimed that the Free SHS policy was not achievable must be very ashamed now. I will shelve that conversation for now so we deal with it another day.”
“However, I wish to congratulate all the students for their brilliant performance in WASSCE examinations,” Nana Akufo-Addo added.
According to last year’s WASSCE statistics, about 60% of the 342,500 candidates who sat for the national examination scored between A1 and C6 in their best six subjects, including English and Mathematics.
