Graduate teachers in the country have petitioned the Minister of Education designate, Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum to annul what they described as stressful NTC examination conducted annually by the National Teaching Council.
The Ghana teacher licensure examination (GTLE) is open to all candidates who have passed their final year examinations at the Colleges of Education (CoE) or at the teacher training Universities.
NTC in a blog post sighted by Educationweb.com.gh said Candidates who are desirous of seeking employment as teachers with the Ghana Education Service are expected to apply online for the Licensure Examination.
But, graduate teachers following the Bosomtwe Member of Parliament appointment as the Education Minister-designate has urged him to cancel the NTC exams once he resumes office as Ghana’s Minister of Education.
“Please Dr Adutwum call for the cancellation of the NTC exams, we beg you, it is very stressful paa,” a concerned graduate said on social media.
The 2020 edition of the Ghana teacher licensure examination (GTLE) was postponed to October 2020 amid the outbreak of the novel virus that halted activities of some College of Education where candidates sit for the exams.
