The President of the Republic of Ghana Akufo-Addo has outlined some four top major achievements his government (New Patriotic Party) has done in the public education sector in his first four-year term in office as President.
He in a social media post sighted by Educationweb.com.gh listed the top four achievements in the public education sector as follows;
1. Teacher trainees from Colleges of Education now earn a full degree and no longer need to study take study leave before becoming teachers.
2. Teacher recruitment is now done at the regional levels to ensure proper decentralization
3. The NPP government has restored teacher training allowances, book and research allowances and Arabic volunteer allowances.
4. Basic education now includes vocational, agricultural and technical schools.
According to him, the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) government believes that every Ghanaian child deserves a good and quality education.
