Lands Minister thanks students for planting trees to ‘Green’ Ghana

The Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Hon. Samuel Abu Jinapor on behalf of his outfit has commended students and staff of the Ghana Education Service who participated in the Green Ghana exercise of planting trees on June 11, 2021.

Posting on social media, the Lands Minister wrote: I wish to express my profound gratitude and that of the Lands Ministry to millions of Ghanaians who came out to participate in the National exercise of planting 5 million trees.”

The Member of Parliament for the Damongo Constituency, Mr Samuel Abu Jinapor further encouraged students and the good people of Ghana who planted seedlings on the Green Ghana Day to care for and grow them.

According to him, this year’s Green Ghana Day is only the beginning of the long-term Green Ghana Project to restore the lost forest cover of our great country.

The Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources last Friday as part of efforts to restore the forest cover of our country launched the project dubbed “One Student, One Tree” in support of the Green Ghana Day at the Accra High School.
