The Management and students of Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) as part of efforts to support the Green Ghana project Friday planted 2,000 trees at Prince of Whales Park and on other sites on campus.
The planting exercise also dubbed “One student, One tree” was led by the Vice-Chancellor of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology KNUST, Professor (Mrs.) Rita Akosua Dickson on Friday, June 11, 2021.
Posting on social media, the Kumasi-based university wrote “KNUST Vice-Chancellor, Professor Rita Akosua Dickson has led staff and students of KNUST to plant 2,000 trees at the Prince of Whales Park and on campus.”
In a related development, the Minister for Education, Dr Adutwum and Deputy Education Minister-designate, John Ntim in line with Akufo-Addo’s initiative to plant 5 million trees separately planted trees on Green Ghana Day.
Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum in a short address advised the prospective students and all Ghanaians to own the trees and ensure they are protected to grow well for the good of the nation.
