Ghana to be selected Africa’s covid-19 manufacturing hub

The European Commission (EU) as part of efforts to slow and curb the spread of the global coronavirus pandemic has announced to select the Republic of Ghana as a covid-19 manufacturing hub in Africa.
A letter signed by President Akufo-Addo’s spokesman and copied by Educationweb.com.gh said the EU choosing Ghana as a covid-19 manufacturing hub follows the initiatives already taken by the government towards domestic novel virus jabs.
“The task force teams from EU and Ghana will meet shortly to discuss modalities towards the realization of this initiative which in principle could be supported by the European Investment Bank (EIB),” the letter stated.
In a related development, His Excellency Akufo-Addo this week received €170 million from the European Investment Bank (EIB) for the establishment of the Development Bank, Ghana.
