The United States-based Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) following the surge in Ghana’s covid-19 cases has advised travellers to suspend trip to the country citing the level of COVID-19 in Ghana is very high.
The Centers for Disease Control (DC) in a blog post on its website has cautioned citizens of the US to avoid travelling to Ghana as they may increase their chance of getting and spreading the novel COVID-19.
“Travel may increase your chance of getting and spreading COVID-19. Staying home is the best way to protect yourself and others from COVID-19.”
“Airports, bus stations, train stations, and rest stops are all places travellers can be exposed to the virus. These are also places where it can be hard to social distance. If you travel, take steps before, during, and after travel to keep yourself and others from getting COVID-19”, it stated in the blog post.
Real-time data sighted by Educationweb.com.gh on the Ghana Health Service (GHS) indicates the country as at January 19, 2021, has recorded 351 new cases of the novel virus with 1,924 active cases and 352 sudden deaths.
