Green Ghana Day: Ablakwa joins Aveyime Girls’ JHS to plant trees

Former Minister for Education, Hon Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa as part of efforts to restore the forest cover of the country Friday, June 11, led students of Aveyime DA/Catholic Girls’ Model JHS to plant trees on Green Ghana Day.

Posting on social media, the North Tongu Member of Parliament wrote “I led the beautiful girls of Aveyime DA/Catholic Girls’ Model JHS — the only all girls JHS in my beloved constituency to plant trees on Green Ghana Day.”

According to him, Aveyime DA/Catholic Girls’ Model JHS is the only all girls JHS in the North Tongu constituency.

“You can trust girls to be better at nurturing our trees and my queens have promised to do just that,” the former Education Minister added in the social media post sighted by EducationWeb.com.gh.

Ghana’s Education Minister, Dr Adutwum also led the staff of the Ministry of Education (MoE) to plant assorted trees at the Saint Mary’s Catholic Basic School at Korle Gonno, in Accra to support the Green Ghana initiative.

The Bosomtwe Member of Parliament in a short address advised the prospective students and all Ghanaians to own the trees and ensure they are protected to grow well for the good of the nation.
