A deputy spokesman for the Ministry of Education says the West African Examinations Council on September 15, 2021, rescheduled the conduct of 2021 two WASSCE papers to investigate sections of the questions that went online.
Speaking in an interview monitored by EducationWeb.com.gh, Yaw Opoku Mensah said the postponed Physics and Business Management papers can only be described as leaked when candidates had sat for the examination.
“If you say a paper leaked, what it means is we sat for the paper, then what you have in your hand compared to what the student sat to do is the case. We never saw the paper, nobody sat for the paper,” he stated.
The Education Ministry spokesperson said the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) after it verified claims portions of the examination papers online had no option other than to postpone the conduct of the examination.
Meanwhile, the Executive Director of Africa Education Watch, Mr Kofi Asare, has said the 2021 Physics papers, scheduled to be conducted on Wednesday, September 15, 2021, at 8:30 Am leaked around 4:00 Am on Wednesday.
“What we know is that we got the WASSCE Physics paper, at dawn and we got them because we paid for them, which means before midnight, every question bag must be in the safe custody of WAEC depot,” he said in an interview.
The Education Economist cited officials of the non-profit-making organization (WAEC) at the depot where the examination papers are kept are responsible for the leakage of the questions for 2021 WASSCE for School.
“Our inquiries point to the fact that the time questions leak is well before midnight and that time questions packed in a sack is always in WAEC depot with security and the only person with the key to the sack is WAEC official,” he said.
The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) Sunday announced it will administer the 2021 WASSCE Physics and Business Management papers it earlier rescheduled on October 1, 2021, and October 7, 2021, respectively.
