WAEC as it prepares to release the school results has cautioned members of the general public particularly 2021 SHS graduates to be wary of individuals who claim to have access to its database and can upgrade or change results.
It in a blog post sighted by EducationWeb.com.gh said the fraudsters who claim to have access to its database contact candidates with the promise of “upgrading” their results for a fee payable through mobile money transfers.
“The Management of the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) wishes to alert its publics to the activities of certain persons who introduce themselves as workers of WAEC and also claim to have access to its results database.
These fraudsters contact prospective candidates with the promise of “upgrading” their results for a fee payable through mobile money transfers. We urge the public and students to desist from that” the Council cautioned.
It has however assured its results database is well secured with military-grade encryption. As such, all forged WASSCE for School and other WAEC results can be detected by its state of the art confirmation/verification system.
“Institutions and organisations are advised to confirm or verify results presented to them directly from the Council or access the confirmation/verification service online at https://www.waecgh.org,” the Examinations Council added.
