The Management of the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has approved a registered number of internet cafes across the country to enrol the fingerprints of candidates for the November/December 2021 WASSCE.
WAEC in a blog post sighted by Educationweb.com.gh said the operators of the registered internet cafes are to charge GH¢2.00 (two Ghana cedis) as a fee for capturing of fingerprints and uploading of photos per candidate.
“Internet café operators are cautioned NOT to use the registration process as a means of exploiting candidates financially,” the Council warned.
According to the Examinations Council, it will immediately deactivate any internet cafe operator found exploiting candidates.
It also cautioned 2021 Nov/Dec candidates not to obliged to continue the registration process with an internet café beyond the capturing of their fingerprints and uploading of their photographs.
