The Director-General of the Ghana Education Service, Prof Kwasi Opoku-Amankwa has been appointed the chairperson of the Ghana Examinations Committee made up of representatives from CHASS, GNAT and etc.
Mrs Rosemond Wilson, Head, Post Examinations Department – The West African Examinations Council – WAEC, GHANA disclosed this in an interview monitored by EducationWeb.com.gh.
The WAEC Examinations Committee according to Mrs Rosemon gives approval for the necessary sanctions to be taken against candidates who engaged in examination malpractice during and after the conduct of the WASSCE for school.
“WAEC after the conduct of the WASSCE report examination malpractice cases recorded during the WASSCE and those to be detected in the marking of the examination scripts to the Committee,” Mrs Rosemond Wilson stated.
The WAEC official added that ” teachers or invigilators who engaged in malpractice and misconduct during the administration of the national examination are reported to the Ghana Education Service for administrative sanctions.”
The GES Director-General, Prof Kwasi-Opoku Amankwa early this year at the 69th Annual Council Meeting of the West African Examinations (WAEC) was elected the vice-chairman of the Council for a one-year period.
