A staff of WAEC has told Educationweb.com.gh that the results of candidates are withheld when they have not been released by the Council even though the provisional results of the examination are released online.

“This usually happens when those candidates are being investigated for their alleged involvement in examination malpractices,” He noted.

The withheld results, according to WAEC will be released as soon as the investigations are completed and decisions are taken on the matter.

Educationweb.com.gh understands that those with withheld results are to wait until mid-November 2021 as the Management of the non-profit-making organization (WAEC) decides whether the results would be released or not.

Held’ means candidates violated the rules & regulations guiding the conduct of the examination. WAEC will meet to decide on that.

Outstanding’ means pending. Errors made by candidates during registration and or examination are being corrected and results will be released after necessary corrections are done.

“Candidates with ‘outstanding’ results, means the results are pending because of errors or mistakes made by candidates. the results will, however, be released after being corrected

“However, in cases of cancelled results, a definite decision has been taken to declare the candidate’s performance in a subject or the entire examination null and void because the candidate engaged in malpractice before, during or after the examination,” He told Educationweb.com.gh.

The WAEC official added that the decision will be formally made to the candidate or his/her school authorities by the Examinations Council.
