The Ghana National Education Campaign Coalition (GNECC) after two examination papers leaked on social media resulting in its postponement has encouraged WAEC to be proactive in the administration of the ongoing WASSCE.
In a statement copied to EducationWeb.com.gh, the Coalition said it regrets confirmation of the 2021 WASSCE Physics and Business Management papers by the West African Examinations Council and its ensuing discussions in the media.
“We want to encourage WAEC to be proactive to prevent the leakage of the examinations subsequently,” the release signed by Joseph Atsu Homadzi, the National Chairman of the Ghana Education Campaign Coalition stated.
To ensure the unscrupulous persons behind the examination papers leakage are brought to book, GNECC has called on all the investigation Bodies in the country to probe the incident to end the unfortunate and embarrassing situation.
“GNECC will continue to follow with keen interest how this issue will be resolved in the best interest of the Ghanaian child,” Mr Joseph Atsu Homadzi told Management of the non-profit-making organization (WAEC).
In a related development, Education Think Tank – Africa Education Watch (EduWatch) has also petitioned the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) to thoroughly investigate the sources of the WASSCE papers leakage.
“We submitted a compendium of evidence to the Director-General of the CID, petitioning him to investigate the sources of the overnight and dawn leakage of 5 papers including Physics paper 2,” the Watch told EducationWeb.
The Executive Director of the Think Tank, Mr Kofi Asare Thursday said other 2021 WASSCE papers including Food and Nutrition 3, English Language 2, Elective Mathematics 2 and NAPTEX English Language 2 also leaked on social media.
WAEC is yet to communicate a date to administer the WASSCE Physics and Business Management papers it Wednesday postponed after questions of the subject leaked on social media hours before the examination.
