WAEC apologises over WASSCE result checking portal downtime

The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) following the downtime of the WASSCE result checking portal https://eresults.wacgh.org has rendered an apology to candidates and members of the general public.
The Council in a post sighted by EducationWeb.com.gh said a technical hitch on their system caused the Friday, December 10, 2021 outage of the results portal leading to changes in the results of 2021 WASSCE graduates.
“One of the Council’s platforms, https://eresults.waecgh.org used for checking of results experienced a technical hitch on Friday, 10th December 2021 between 4.45 p.m. and 6.00 p.m,” the spokesperson for WAEC said on Saturday.
WAEC said the unfortunate incident resulted in subjects that originally had Grade B3 with the interpretation, GOOD being changed to Grade A1 with the interpretation GOOD still showing, clearly indicating an error.
“The system has been shut down and the problem resolved. The public is assured that our Results Database is secure and intact. WAEC sincerely apologises to members of the public for the anxiety and inconvenience caused,” it added.
A staff of the Examinations Council today told EducationWeb his outfit is also working to resolve the warning ‘invalid pin’ at the result checking portal for candidates who purchased the result checker pin through *944# short code.
