The Minister of Education and Bosomtwe Member of Parliament, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum has said prospective students studying visual arts in our various Senior High Schools are the most creative people in the country.
Speaking on the Accra-based Peace 104.3 FM Kokrokoo show monitored by Educationweb.com.gh, Dr. Yaw Adutwum said visual art students are his favorite type of students adding that “they are creative and brilliant.”
“For me, visual arts students are my favorite students, they are the most creative people in the country, they can draw anything,” the Education Minister told the host of PeaceFM’s Kokrokoo show, Kwame Sefa Kayi.
However, Dr. Adutwum said visual students in Ghanaian Senior High Schools (SHS) are not respected and classified the non-performing students because people think the course is for those who are not academically good.
According to him, about 82,000 visual arts students in the country sat for the 2020 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) administered by the West African Examinations Council (WAEC).
