The University of Ghana (UG) in line with the University Teachers Association of Ghana (UTAG) ongoing strike action says level 100 and 400 students final examination for second-semester 2020/2021 has been postponed indefinitely.
The Business and Executive Committee of the University of Ghana in a statement copied to EducationWeb.com.gh said the postponement of the final examination was agreed upon at a meeting held on Friday, August 6, 2021
“We have decided to postpone the forthcoming level 100 and 400-second semester examination 2020/2021 academic year examination due to the ongoing strike actions,” the Accra-based public university Executive Committee stated.
UG also said the resumption of the level 200 and level 300 batches for the second semester of the 2020/2021 academic year has been adjourned to a date to be communicated to students later.
According to the Management of Ghana’s premier university, academic activities will resume after the concerns of the University Teachers Association of Ghana (UTAG) are addressed by the Government of Ghana (GoG).
“The University of Ghana, Legon (UG) remains open for now and academic activities will resume when services are restored,” Authorities of the university noted.
The suspension of the examination comes after the leadership of UTAG asked lecturers to withdraw all teaching and related activities including examination, invigilation, marking of examination scripts, processing of examination results.
