There will be no alleged leaked questions for the conduct of this year’s WASSCE for School Candidates since our security is watertight and we do not compromise on security, a staff of the Examinations Council has assured
The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) over the decade has suffered issues of questions leakage, a situation the Council always deny and attribute it to activities of some individuals and rogue websites.
But, the Head of National Examinations Department-WAEC, Mr Ben K Owusu in an interview monitored by Educationweb.com.gh said this will not be the case this year, as no alleged leaked questions are expected.
According to him, some unscrupulous persons intentionally spread fake questions on social media and tag it as a leaked question paper to undermine the integrity of WAEC and the conduct of the examination.
Mr Ben K Owusu, however, said his outfit this year has put in place adequate measures to avoid cases of questions leakages.
“WAEC security is watertight and we do not compromise on security, we are putting the same security measures during the conduct of the WASSCE for School Candidates and for BECE for School Candidates
“I just want to assure everybody that there will be no leakage of questions, but the public should also cooperate with WAEC, WAEC will for no reason intentionally leak question papers because it will affect the very existence of the entity WAEC
“So why should we leak question papers to tarnish our image, so we have measures in place and I am assuring everybody that we will never compromise on our security”, the WAEC Head of Examinations said.
