Ghana’s Education Minister, Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum says the Ministry of Education (MoE) has not approved or endorsed History of Ghana textbook 3 by Badu Nkansah publications for use or sale on the Ghanaian market.
The Bosomtwe Member of Parliament in a short interview with Accra-based Peace 104.3 FM said the History of Ghana textbook 3 as indicated by NaCCA do not conform to the requirement of the standard-based curriculum.
“The book is not approved,” Dr Yaw Adutwum told Peacefmonline.com.
NaCCA, the Institution mandated to approve teaching and learning material for use in Pre-tertiary schools has called for the immediate removal of an unapproved book, History of Ghana textbook 3 from the Ghanaian market.
According to NaCCA, the author made inappropriate reference to personalities and ethnic groups which deemed unfortunate and do not conform to the requirement of standard-based curriculum.
However, an Ewe and a former Education Minister have filed an urgent parliamentary question requesting Dr Adutwum to appear before the House and respond to the two bigoted publications in the issue.
