Ghana’s Education Ministry says teachers who refused to attend continuous professional development and professional learning community to upgrade themselves as professional will not receive 2021 professional allowance.
A staff of the Ministry of Education (MoE) in an interview monitored by Educationweb.com.gh said the professional allowance is not free money and that is only for teachers who are professionals.
“So those teachers who do not want to upgrade to professional and will not attend the continuous professional development and professional learning community this year will not receive the allowance
“Every teacher knows the continuous professional allowance is not a free money and work not done deserves not payment,” the MoE official stated.
He indicated that In-service teachers four times each year have to go for an upgraded meeting and professional learning community every Wednesday afternoon in school.
