Students who refuse to put on their nose mask on their way to school or home will be arrested by the task force set up to ensure the adherence of the COVID-19 safety etiquettes, Sunyani Municipal Chief Executive has said.
According to Madam Justina Owusu-Banahene, parents of such school children would be identified and sanction by the Assembly officials.
The Sunyani MCE speaking in an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) said a COVID-19 task force had been deployed by the Assembly to patrol and enforce the covid safety protocols in the Sunyani municipality.
“The 52-member task force comprises personnel of the Third Garrison Battalion (3BN), Police, Fire Service, Immigration Service and Prison Service”, Madam Justina Owusu-Banahene told the News Agency.
She advised parents to equip their ward with a reusable nose mask and an alcohol-based hand sanitiser to protect them from the killer virus that has according to the Health Service claimed 390 lives as of January 30, 2021
