The Deputy Minister for Education, Reverend John Ntim Fordjour says the Ministry of Education (MoE) has put in place measures to address outstanding concerns relating to teachers promotion, upgrades and allowances soon.
He announced this Wednesday in his address at the GNAT Investment Forum held in Accra to mark the 90th-anniversary celebration of GNAT under the theme “Beyond the teachers’ fund: Making our teachers economically sound.”
John Ntim also conveyed the assurances and commitment of the Minister for Education, Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum to address with alacrity, teachers welfare concerns through the Teachers Welfare App initiative soon to be introduced.
“So steps are underway to resolve outstanding concerns relating to teachers promotion, upgrades and allowances,” the Deputy Education Minister told members of the Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT).
According to him, the government as part of efforts to improve teaching and learning in due course will make available 280,000 state of the art brand new laptops to teachers on a cost-sharing basis.
