The Ghana Education Service (GES) has debunked claims indicating the Thursday, March 18, 2021, SHS 1 reopening date has been postponed due to the reintroduction of double-track to ensure social distancing amid covid.
GES earlier announced for the Form 1 Senior High School students to report to school on March 10, 2021, but later postponed the reporting date to allow Heads of SHS to prepare to welcome the 4th batch of Free SHS beneficiaries.
However, the Director-General of the Ghana Education Service (GES), Prof Kwasi-Opoku Amankwa in an interview with Accra-based Peace 104.3 FM noted March 18, 2021, the SHS 1 reopening date still remains unchanged.
According to a statement issued by the Education Service and sighted by Educationweb.com.gh, intensive academic activities will start on Monday, March 22, 2021, for all first-year Senior High School (SHS) students.
The Service has said all the 4th batch of the Free SHS beneficiaries will report to school Thursday, March 18, 2021, before they are divided into the gold and green track by the Management of their respective schools.
