The Senior Staff Association of Universities of Ghana (SSA-UoG) effective Thursday, January 2021 has declared a nationwide strike over non-payment of their tier-two pension arrears and delay in some other allowances.
The First Vice Chairman of the Senior Staff at Press Conference said the strike action follows the non-payment of their tier-two pension arrears and delay in the award of market premium and non-basic allowance.
SSA-UoG also said the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission (FWSC) failure to engage them on their condition of service contributes to the strike action.
“I wish on behalf of the National Executive Council, to announce the withdrawal of our services with immediate effect”
“For the avoidance of doubt, members are hereby required to lay down their tools until further notice,” First Vice Chairman stated.
