A relevant stakeholder in the education sector has said schools in Ghana will reopen for the 2021/2022 academic year mid-January this year.
This prediction comes after President Akufo-Addo in one of his televised nation’s address announced to reopen schools in January after a temporal closure of all schools in the country on March 15, 2020, amid COVID-19.
According to the source, schools are likely to reopen possibly on January 19, 2021, for students in first-year Junior High School and Senior High School.
The Government of Ghana (GoG) is however expected to make an official announcement about the school reopening in the coming days.
The announcement of when schools in Ghana will reopen will be the outcome of a meeting held on Wednesday between His Excellency Akufo-Addo and the Cabinet.
