WAEC elects Kwasi Opoku-Amankwa vice-chairman of Council

The non-profit-making organization (WAEC) at its 69th Annual Council Meeting this year unanimously has elected Professor Kwasi Opoku-Amankwa as the vice-chairman of the Council for a one-year period.
Professor Kwasi Opoku-Amankwa, who is also the Director-General of the Ghana Education (GES) is expected to lead as the Council’s vice-chairman from March 2021 to March 2022.
Ghana’s very own, Prof. Ato Essuman was also appointed the new chairman of the sub-regional organisation for a period of three years succeeding Mr Baboucarr Bouy from the Gambia who was appointed in March 2018.
Professor Ato Essumanterm term as the Examinations Council’s chairman ends in March 2024 as he fully commences work in March 2021.
The special guest of honour, President Akufo-Addo in his address at the 69th ceremony expressed delight over the outstanding performance of the first batch of Free SHS beneficiaries in the 2020 WASSCE despite covid-19.
