The Private University Students Association (PUSAG) July 10, 2021, at the PUSAG Excellence Awards at the National Theatre in Accra, crowned Pentecost University (PU) as the most innovative private university of the year.
PUSAG in a post sighted by EducationWeb.com.gh said the University’s ability to digitize its entire application process, fee payment and other salient operations within one year greatly contributed to the award.
They also cited the paid vacation job concept the university has rolled out for its students as very innovative. These including the tremendous increase in enrolment at the university make it the obvious choice for the award.
Mr Michael W. K. Gyimah, Chief Information Officer of the Accra-based Pentecost University receiving the award on behalf of the university commended The Church of Pentecost for the continuous support to the university.
The Vice-Chancellor of Pentecost University Rev. Prof. Kwabena Agyapong-Kodua similarly thanked God and the leadership of the Church of Pentecost, and staff who are driving the necessary changes in the University A+ agenda.
“It has come to challenge us to even do more,” the private university Vice-Chancellor said in his address.
The President of the Students’ Representative Council of PU, Mr Joseph Danser on his part said “We thank God for this award which has come to boost the visibility of the tremendous transformation ongoing at PU.”
He also congratulated the management of the university saying “your good works that have earned us this prestigious award” adding that the good work of the Authorities of the university reflects the rapid positive changes.
