The admission deadline comes after PRINCOF this week announced the release of the 2022/2023 academic year admission form for WASSCE graduates seeking to pursue four years Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) degree programme.

“The 2022/2023 Colleges of Education admission forms are out for suitably qualified candidates seeking to pursue a new four year Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) degree programme in Colleges of Education,” PRINCOF stated.

Sold for GHC170.000 for the 2021/2022 academic year, EducationWeb in due course will communicate to students and the public the cost of the 2022/2023 Colleges of Education admission form. We however expect a slight increase.

The public Colleges of Education (CoE) 2023 admission forms will be available for sale this academic year at various branches of the Ghana Commercial Bank. The admission form can be accessed by dialling the shortcode *924*8#.

To qualify for teacher training admission, the National Conference say applicants must have A1-C6 in three core subjects thus; English Language, Mathematics and Integrated Science and three credit passes in elective subjects.

According to the National Conference of Principals of the Colleges, interested applicants with SSCE certificates who had obtained A-D in three core subjects can also apply to be considered for the 2022/2023 teacher training admission.

Meanwhile, the management of the National Teaching Council (NTC) has said applicants seeking to pursue various teacher education programmes will sit a College of Education examination before being given admission to study.

The entrance examination dubbed Ghana Basic Education Skills Examination Test (GBEST) and slated for August this year the Registrar of the Council, Dr Christian Addai Poku has said will access students in numeracy and literacy.

“The GBEST will, thus, be used as the entry assessment for the trainee teachers and after completion, the students will be made to write a level and subject-based licensure examination to be qualified as professional teachers,” he stated.

Dr Addai told stakeholders the new entrance exams form part of reforms being proposed by his outfit to harmonise teacher education admissions in the country and also improve teacher education as part of the educational reforms.
