Former Minister of Education, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has encouraged people to get vaccinated as he receives the first shot of a jab against the locally transmitted virus that has claimed 640 lives as of March 6, 2021.
The North Tongu Member of Parliament was inoculated with the Oxford-AstraZeneca covid-19 vaccine procured by the Akufo-Addo government.
Okudzeto Ablakwa in a social media post sighted by Educationweb.com.gh announcing his completion of the vaccination encouraged all Ghanaians particularly North Tongu constituents to get vaccinated to fight the virus.
“It is now time to vaccinate against clear unacceptable conduct that makes the people who sent us to Parliament lose confidence in our growing democracy and the legitimate expectations of a hung parliament.”
The former Education Minister added that “I recommend the jab to you all”
According to Ghana’s Health Service, the country as at the time of writing this post has recorded 4,833 active cases with 350 new cases and 640 deaths.
