C.K Tedam University of Technology and Applied Sciences (CKT-UTAS) formerly UDS Navrongo Campus is preparing to introduce nursing and midwifery programmes as part of its running programmes, Registrar of NMC said on Thursday.
The Nursing Council in a post sighted by EducationWeb.com.gh said the development will offer the opportunity for new students in Navorongo and practitioners the platform to acquire nursing and midwifery training and education.
Mr Felix Nyante, the Registrar of the Nursing and Midwifery Council speaking to Management of C.K Tedam said the curricula for the programmes need to be developed to employ interactive, inclusive and innovative teaching and learning techniques.
The Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof. Eric Magnus Wilmot in his address said the introduction of the nursing and midwifery programmes will strategically position nurses and midwives to contribute significantly to the health sector.
“The introduction of the nursing and midwifery programmes will strategically position nurses and midwives to contribute to the achievement of Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 3 in the region and Ghana at large,” he stated.
