The Management of the National Teaching Council (NTC) has announced to commence numbers and license registration of qualified teachers of Ghana Education Service (GES) and those in private institutions in May 2021.
It in a release copied to Educationweb.com.gh indicated qualified teachers who were employed by GES before September 1, 2018, are to visit the NTC’s teacher portal Ghana https://tpg.ntc.gov.gh and register before May 7, 2021.
Qualified teachers it said are teachers who have been trained and certified as teachers by accredited colleges and universities that train teachers.
“It is to be noted that all teachers who were employed before August 31, 2018, are required to pass the teacher licensure exam to merit the licence and registration number, thus their provisional license shall be replaced with the full license during the license registration exercise,” NTC stated.
According to the Council, teachers who fail to register for the license by the May 7, 2021 deadline shall lose the right to practice as a teacher in Ghana.
This the Teaching Council (NTC) said is in accordance with section 64 (1) of the Education Regulatory Bodies Act 1023.
