The National Teaching Council (NTC) says the 2021 September licensure examination for teachers earlier scheduled for September 23 to 24, 2021 has been postponed to enable the Council’s I.T personnel to work on a Test Prep Portal.
Speaking to EducationWeb.com.gh, a staff of the Teaching Council said the Test Prep Portal will enable graduate teachers seeking to write the licensure examination to practise adequately before sitting for the examination.
“The National Teaching Council (NTC) has postponed the date for the sitting of 2021 GTLE 2 from 23rd
and 24th of September to 23rd and 24th October, 2021,” the NTC official told EducationWeb’s Okyere Darko.
The NTC staff furthered that “the postponement is to enable National Teaching Council (NTC) complete work on the Test Prep Portal which will enable candidates to practise adequately before writing the examination.”
He said the Koforidua Asokore SDA College of Education Centre has been moved to Presbyterian Women College of Education (PWCE), Aburi but all other teacher licensure examination centres remain the same.
The Council has urged principals for various GTLE centres to officially apply for a police escort in the administration of the National teacher licensure examination to ensure law and order during the examination period in October.
The postponement of the 2021 September teacher licensure examination indicates courses like literacy and Essential professional skills will be conducted on Saturday, October 23, 2021, and Numeracy on Sunday, October 24, 2021.
