NTC licensing: Issuance of license card ends in Central, see next region

The Management of the National Teaching Council (NTC) says it after ending the issuance of license cards to in-service teachers in the Central region on Saturday will move to the Western region to continue the NTC licensing exercise.

Speaking in an interview monitored by EducationWeb.com.gh, the Registrar of NTC, Christian Addai Poku said the issuance of license cards to qualified teachers in the Central Region will end on June 19, 2021, at various centres.

“We will hopefully on June 19, 2021, end the NTC licensing of teachers in Central, so we urge all qualified teachers due to be licensed to visit the Teacher Portal Ghana (https://tpg.ntc.gov.gh) to register for the license card,” he stated.

According to the National Teaching Council (NTC), the NTC teacher license card which is recognized by the African Federation of Teachers can be used to teach in the country and outside Ghana.

“So if you go to Canada and want to teach, you just give them your teacher license card and they will log in to the NTC portal with your pin number on the card and know everything about you,” Dr Christian Addai Poku noted.

“So by 2022 every qualified teacher in the country will be licensed and we will have a good database of them, this will help us to know those who are qualified and non-qualified,” a staff of the Teaching Council told host of the interview.
