The National Service Scheme (NSS) says national service personnel who were not posted due to discrepancies in their online registration details and have been put on hold should visit the NSS office in their Region to be posted.
In a post sighted by EducationWeb.com.gh, NSS Executive Director said personnel are to go along with documents including enrolment form, Student ID, any National ID, and a soft copy of passport picture saved with NSS number.
According to Hon Osei Assibey Antwi, prospective graduates after submitting the above-mentioned documents will be cleared and qualified to be posted to commence the 2021/2022 national service which starts October this year.
The spokesperson for the Scheme, Armstrong Essah explaining why some tertiary institution graduates were not posted after the release of the postings on October 6, 2021, said his outfit detected errors in their registration.
“We had no option than to put on hold the postings of some graduates, some of them gave similar details especially for the next of king we had a case where the graduate phone number was the same of the next of king,” he stated.
Commenting on reposting, the NSS Public Relations Officer said the Scheme this year will only consider physically challenged, heavily pregnant, newly married and rejected individuals by their user agency for reposting.
“This year we are not doing reposting, Management has taken a decision to only repost physically challenged, heavily pregnant, newly wedded and rejected individuals by their user agency,” the NSS spokesman noted in an interview.
Asked if personnel eligible to be reposted will pay any specific amount of money, Mr Essah said postings or reposting attracts no fees adding that any service personnel who pays money to an NSS official does so at his/her own risk.
To minimize excessive crowds at the registration centres, NSS has urged all posted national service personnel are required to schedule an appointment online and visit the centres on the scheduled date and time for validation.
“It is important to note that postings registration should be completed by Friday, November 5, 2021. NSS urges graduates posted and accepted by user agencies to begin national service on Monday, October 11, 2021,” it said.
