Northeastern University housing application & Rates

The Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts offers a variety of housing options for its students. From traditional residence halls to apartment-style living, students can choose the housing option that best fits their needs and preferences.

Boston-based first-year undergraduate students who enter through fall admission and NUin will be provided with university housing during their first and second years, unless they participate in a global or co-op experience outside the city.

As part of their housing arrangement, these students may be placed in one of the Living Learning Communities (LLCs), which are themed environments that connect students who share similar academic and personal interests. The LLCs provide a unique opportunity to enrich academic experiences outside of the classroom and form lifelong bonds with like-minded individuals who enjoy similar activities and values.

Northeastern University Housing Application

The housing application process at Northeastern University is relatively simple. Students can access the housing application through the myNEU portal. The application includes questions about lifestyle preferences, such as smoking and noise levels, as well as roommate preferences and special requests for accommodations.

Once you have paid your enrollment deposit, which includes the housing deposit, and set up your Northeastern Student Account, you will be able to fill out the Housing Application on the Application Status Check under Housing Online. However, it’s important to note that it can take up to 48 hours to gain access to Housing Online after making your deposit.

As long as you pay your enrollment deposit by May 1, 2023, you will be able to fill out the housing application, which is due by May 5, 2023. Remember that if you don’t complete the housing application, or are approved to live off-campus through the Residency Waiver Process, you will be assigned a random housing placement.

Once the housing application is submitted, students will be assigned a housing assignment based on availability and their preferences. Roommate assignments are also made based on compatibility.
