The National Council for Curriculum and Assessment (NaCCA) has reviewed a book dubbed ‘Tree for Life’ authored by Nakeeyat Sam Dramani, the winner of TV’3 Talented Kidz Season 10, the Deputy Education Minister has disclosed.
The Education Minister, John Ntim Frodjour in a post sighted by EducationWeb.com.gh said the young poet called on him and presented a copy of her book ‘Tree for Life’ being reviewed by the National Council and Assessment.
According to him, the female author next academic year among other gifted and talented kids across the country will be enrolled under the Gifted and Talented Education policy (GATE) in the soon-to-be operationalized STEM schools.
“Through a fair and equitable system, such gifted and talented kids across the country will be identified under the Gifted and Talented Education policy (GATE) and enrolled in the soon-to-be operationalized STEM schools,” he stated.
In a related development, Vivian and Franklina from Kwaku Panfo MA Primary School under the Gifted & Talented Education Policy (GATE) will also be enrolled in a STEM school when the next academic year commences in 2022
The 11-year-old talented girls’ journey to study at science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) schools comes after they presented their artwork to the Deputy Education Minister at his office at the Ministry of Education.
Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum, the Minister for Education has said about 20 STEM schools across the country were completed July this year but students would be admitted to the various STEM centres next academic year.
