Naa Koshie Manyo-Plange wins 2021 Spelling Bee

The organizers of the country’s most-watched spelling programme have crowned Naa Koshie Manyo-Plange of the Accra-based Roman Ridge School the champion of the 2021 edition of the Spelling Bee competition.

Naa Koshie Manyo-Plange who was speller number 15 after several rounds of the game beat her competitors in the 15th round to win the competition.

Ghana’s best speller correctly spelt the word “Amaxophobia” which means the “fear of being in or riding in a vehicle” to win the Spelling Bee trophy.

She takes home a cash prize of GH₵ 10,000, a Gold medal, An engraved trophy, a fully installed Explora decoder with a 6-month subscription from DStv, a year’s supply of Indomie Ghana, GH₵ 500 fuel vouchers sponsored by GOIL Company Limited and Frankie’s Restaurant meals for a year.

11-year-old Naa Koshie Manyo-Plange following her enormous achievement will represent Ghana at the 94th Scripps National Spelling Bee in the USA.
