Ho Central Member of Parliament, Hon. Benjamin Komla Kpodo as part of his effort to slow the spread of the fast-spreading novel coronavirus has presented dozens of disposable nose masks to nine (9) tertiary institutions.
The MP in a social media post sighted by Educationweb.com.gh said the gesture which was earlier extended to basic and second cycle schools in his constituency forms part of efforts to curb the spread of the virus in schools.
“I want everyone to be safe in my constituency including the schools. So these donations are complementing the efforts of government and the school authorities to protect the students and staff against the virus.”
Receiving the nose masks on behalf of the beneficiary institutions, Professor Ben Q. Honyenuga thanked the MP for his kind gesture adding that “We should all be one another’s a keeper. Covid-19 knows no bounds.”
He also appealed to the MP and the municipal authorities to intensify public education on the pandemic and its preventive etiquettes in markets, where compliance to the safety protocols has been very abysmal.
Present at the ceremony were reps of the 8 other beneficiary institutions including, Dr Sena Kpeglo, Registrar of the University of Health and Allied Sciences (UHAS).
