Deputy Education Minister, John Ntim Fordjour Tuesday after launching the Early Childhood Education Policy put together by his outfit and GES with support from UNICEF inaugurated a National Steering Committee for the policy.

The National Steering Committee for Early Childhood Education (NaSCECE) would be responsible to offer the needed technical support for the effective implementation of Early Childhood Education and strengthen the sub-sector.
Reverend John Ntim speaking at the launch on behalf of the Minister for Education, Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum, the Early Childhood Education framework is essential for preparing children aged 4-5 with a solid foundation to excel.
“The policy is essential for the growth of the child as it will position them well for their primary, secondary and tertiary education and enable them to make meaningful contributions toward nation-building,” he stated.

The UNICEF country representative, Anne Claire Dufay in her address also said approximately1.8 million, 4 and 5-year old girls and boys amid the launch of the policy and framework will get the best start in life in kindergarten.
