Former Minister for Education, Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh popularly known as NAPO has been acknowledged and invited to join Mission 4.7 for his outstanding contribution to improving the quality of education across the globe.
This means the Energy Minister will become a member of the Mission 4.7 High-Level Advisory Group, a joint initiative of UNESCO, the Sustainable Development Solutions Network, the Ban Ki-moon Center for Global Citizens and the Center for Sustainable Development (CSD) at Columbia University.
The invitation according to a congratulatory message sighted by EducationWeb.com.gh is only extended to those who have extraordinarily contributed to supporting target 4.7 and advancing quality education globally.
“Congratulations to Ghana’s Minister responsible for Energy and MP for Manhyia south, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh on your Honourary and Meritorious Membership of the Mission 4.7 High-Level Advisory Group,” the message stated.
The Member of Parliament for the Manhyia South Constituency early this year was appointed the country’s Minister for Energy after serving as Education Minister from 2017 to 2020 in President Akufo-Addo’s first term government.
The National Union of Ghana Students (NUGS) following the immediate past Education Minister enormous contribution to the introduction of the Free Senior High School policy this year has declared him Dr Free SHS.
